The Consultation

Your initial consultation is the first step toward achieving optimum dental health or achieving the smile that you have always wanted. Whether you have a specific problem to address or you are looking for a comprehensive solution to restore your smile and dental health, Drs. John and Lori Babineau will answer your questions, consider all of your individual factors and present an individualized treatment plan to best meet or exceed our dental needs.

Drs. John & Lori Babineau understand that you may be unfamiliar with all of the procedures involved in Preventative, Restorative, Cosmetic and Implant dentistry. During your initial consultation, we will take the time to really listen to you, review your dental and medical history, and take into account various other factors such as diet, age, previous dental experiences and genetic predispositions. By taking the time to get to know you as an individual will better help us discuss all of your options with you, in detail, so that you better understand the treatment that you are about to undergo and can make the best choice for your needs.

Initial Examination

Your journey to excellent dental health starts with a thorough examination.

A Comprehensive Oral Examination is much more than a simple checkup. A Comprehensive Oral exam is a thorough, complete and detailed look at the current state of your oral health.

At Babineau Dentistry, we feel this type of thorough dental exam is necessary to get the true picture of your teeth, gums and your overall oral health. In many cases, we find that the mouth is the window to the entire body. During a Comprehensive Oral Exam, we can often detect various systemic issues that may be affecting the entire body. The quality of your overall health is dependent upon the health of your mouth.

A Comprehensive Oral Exam in our office consists of the following:

  • A Periodontal Exam to check the health of your gums and tooth supporting bone.
  • A Dental Exam to note any conditions that we see with your teeth.
  • A TMJ and occlusal exam to analyze your jaw joints and bite pattern.
  • A head and neck oral cancer screening.
  • A radiographic exam using digital imaging.
  • A photographic exam to better show areas of concern that are not seen on dental x-rays
  • An Aesthetic exam to address your concerns and discuss advances in dentistry
  • Dental examinations help to diagnose oral disease before it becomes hazardous to your health and treat the conditions that already exist. It is important to remember that most dental problems don’t correct themselves so regular examinations can save you money on dental treatment by alleviating problems while they are small.
