Beautiful, straight teeth without the hassle of metal braces

Invisalign is the modern alternative to metal braces and has been used to successfully straighten teeth and correct bite alignment for over 15 years. Comfortably smooth plastic aligner trays are used rather than old-fashioned metal brackets and sharp wires.

Experience you can depend on

We will explain all your options for straightening your teeth with Invisalign.

Drs. John and Lori Babineau were among the first group of dentists to become Preferred Providers for Invisalign, once certification was available. They have been providing treatment with Invisalign for over 12 years, and have successfully straightened the teeth of over 1,000 patients.

Options for mildly crooked teeth and for teens

Invisalign Express is an effective, affordable, fast and convenient way to straighten minor aesthetic concerns in three months or less. This accelerated process uses five sets of aligner trays that are replaced approximately every two weeks and gradually shift the teeth in the same manner as the longer process.

Invisalign Teen offers the same modern technology for teens once their permanent teeth have fully erupted, at around 11-15 years of age. Learn more about Invisalign Teen.

Advantages of Invisalign

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in Austin

Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can brush and floss your teeth like normal.

While a beautiful smile can be achieved with other methods of straightening teeth, a comparison of Invisalign to metal braces quickly shows the advantages, allowing you to make an informed decision.

There are many advantages to using Invisalign, including, but not limited to:

  • The clear aligners are virtually invisible, meaning no embarrassing metal mouth
  • The aligners are smooth, comfortable plastic and don’t irritate teeth and gums the way sharp metal often does
  • Office visits are less frequent – just every four to six weeks
  • Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can enjoy the foods you want (unlike the dietary restrictions imposed with traditional braces) and you can easily clean your teeth and gums.

How Invisalign works

Invisalign treatment takes approximately a year for adults, and for teens about the same time as treatment with braces. There won’t be wires and brackets obstructing your view of your teeth, so you can see the positive changes as they occur.

Planning your treatment

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in Austin

Accurate diagnostics and planning is crucial for effective teeth straightening.

Our doctors take digital X-rays, external photos and impressions of your teeth. Invisalign receives this information and creates digital 3D images of your teeth that we use these to map out a precise treatment plan. Our doctors can show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment, and let you know the approximate length of treatment.

Custom aligners based on your treatment plan

Invisalign creates a series of custom-made, clear aligners following the treatment plan designed by the doctor. These aligners are made of a smooth, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your gums like traditional metal braces often do.

It’s recommended to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours in a day. You can remove the aligners to eat and to brush and floss your teeth.

Gradually straightening your teeth

You’ll be changing your aligners approximately every two weeks, with each new set advancing you to the next stage of the treatment. You’ll come in to our office every four to six weeks so that the doctor can keep an eye on your progress.

Conditions that can be corrected with Invisalign

Invisalign treatment can fix a wide variety of problems with teeth and bite alignment. Mild cases of crooked teeth as well as much more difficult problems involving serious bite issues can be corrected with the clear plastic aligner trays.

Here are some of the main conditions Dr. Babineau can fix with Invisalign:

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinOverly crowded

Crowded teeth can be difficult to clean the teeth properly. Lack of proper oral care can promote tooth decay and cause a higher risk of gum disease.

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinOverbite

An overbite can cause excessive wear on the lower teeth, gum irritations and can also cause jaw problems.

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinUnderbite

This occurs when the bottom teeth protrude beyond the upper teeth and can interfere with the normal function of front teeth and molars, and can lead to jaw problems.

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinGaps in Teeth

Gaps can cause teeth to shift into the empty spaces and become loose because the dental arch is not as secure. Food and bacteria are easily trapped in gaps and increase the risk for tooth decay and gum disease.

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinOpen Bite

An open bite can interfere with chewing and can cause speech impairment and jaw problems.

Invisalign Clear Teeth Straightening in AustinCrossbite

This is a symptom of jaw misalignment, which can cause worn-down teeth, gum disease or both.

If you have one of these conditions, please contact us to schedule your free Invisalign consultation. The doctor will evaluate your situation and create a custom plan for you.
