Full-Mouth Restoration in Austin

Full-Mouth Restoration in Austin

Our doctors will explain the entire process of restoring your mouth to full health and function.

Restore your teeth to full health, function and beauty

Full-mouth restoration, full-mouth reconstruction and full-mouth rehabilitation are terms often used interchangeably to describe the process of restoring your mouth to optimum beauty and function. In some cases this process involves simultaneously restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and/or lower jaws.

The need for full-mouth reconstruction may result from:

  • Teeth that have been lost due to decay or trauma.
  • Teeth that have been injured or fractured.
  • Teeth that have become severely worn as a result of long-term acid erosion (foods, beverages, acid reflux) or tooth grinding.
  • Ongoing complaints of jaw, muscle and headache pain requiring adjustments to the bite (occlusion).

With a full-mouth restoration, you do not have to settle for and accept the natural course of aging that your mouth has taken. Get your smile and function back. You no longer need to hide your smile and choose soft food on the menu.

Full-mouth restorations today may involve the replacement of missing teeth with dental implants, gum disease treatment, root canal therapy, teeth extractions, bone grafting and dental crowns and bridges. In our practice we refer to these cases as Complex Case Dentistry and the team at Babineau Dentistry has had exceptional training in this area to be sure your case goes as expected.

Do you cover your mouth when smiling or laughing? Do you have dentures that slip when you’re talking or eating? Missing teeth, worn or broken-down teeth and ill-fitting dentures can negatively affect your oral health as well as your confidence to smile.

Full-mouth restoration is a term used to describe a series of procedures employed to restore all the teeth in your upper and lower jaw.

Pain-free, comfortable care

If the thought of undergoing a series of dental procedures fills you with dread, you can rest assured that our entire staff will do everything possible to ensure that you are comfortable and free from pain.

We pamper you with amenities you’d expect to receive at a spa: warm blankets, paraffin hand waxes that relax muscles, aromatherapy candles and headphones so that you may listen to your choice of music.

In addition to these amenities, we also offer oral sedatives to achieve conscious sedation. Conscious sedation is a state of deep relaxation, you are lightly dozing, but able to be woken up at any time.

We treat complex cases

Drs. Lori and John Babineau understand that treating complex cases requires strict attention to detail, and they never rush through procedures, taking whatever amount of time is needed to provide the best possible dental care.

Our doctors have the experience and special training needed to treat complex cases.

They have attended courses at the renowned Los Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies. LVI offers interactive clinical lectures with actual patients, providing valuable real-life experience.

Our doctors have also attended extended education courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute that provided valuable information in the areas of complex dental care and comprehensive dental care.

Your chronological age and your dental age

Full-Mouth Restoration in AustinComprehensive dental care courses at the Pankey Institute focus on a patients’ “dental age.”

Dental youth” is a stage when dental procedures are limited to routine exams and cleanings, teeth whitening, removal of wisdom teeth, orthodontics and perhaps a crown or two.

“Dental adult” is a time when more problems have occurred and more procedures have become necessary. This stage is characterized by gum disease treatment, several crowns, replacing missing teeth with implants or bridges and root canal therapy. Cosmetic procedures such as placing porcelain veneers may have been done.

“Dental elder” is the stage that you never want to be in. This is when most or all teeth are missing and removable dentures or partial dentures are being employed. Dental function and health have been dramatically reduced in this stage.

Full-Mouth Reconstruction Testimonial

Full-Mouth Restoration in Austin“I had neglected my dental care for many years. As a result, my teeth were starting to crack, break and wear to the point where I felt self-conscious about my smile.

“Dr. Babineau quickly identified what my dental problems were and presented a plan to restore all of my teeth. Looking back, I believe I was putting off needed dental care because I never felt that my previous dentist had the skills and experience to really help me.

“Because of the complexity of my case, I had to wear temporary crowns for six weeks. I was thrilled when I got to see my smile during the first appointment, even though the restoration was temporary.

“The result was that I gained the smile that I always wanted without any pain or discomfort throughout the entire procedure. Thank you, Dr. Babineau, for changing my life. I wish I had done this years ago.”
