The Modern Solution

Dental Implants in AustinA dental implant is a titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Dental implants are used to support crowns, dental bridges and dentures.

Insurance coverage for dental implants has increased quite a bit in recent years and with our payment plans and competitive pricing, most patients have access to modern solution for missing teeth.

Here at Babineau Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, we provide both dental implant placement and implant restorations, which means that in most cases, the entire implant process can be completed right here in our office. This not only saves time and money, but in many cases allows you to have a tooth removed, implant placed and a temporary crown placed all in one visit!

High-tech diagnostics & meticulous planning

Dental Implants in Austin

Our high-tech equipment makes treatment more accurate, efficient and comfortable.

Once it has been determined that dental implants are the best solution for your missing teeth, your next step is to receive a precise diagnosis. A 3D Cone Beam dental CT scanner is used to take 360º images of your teeth and jaw. As the scanner rotates around your head an extremely detailed set of three-dimensional images is captured.

The X-rays are focused via a cone beam onto the precise areas of treatment, employing a fraction of the radiation used by medical CT scanners. These cross-section images from the 3D CBCT provide valuable information about bone density and help the doctor plan the exact location for implant placement and achieve the optimum results.

Dr. Orlich conducts a thorough oral exam and reviews your dental and medical history. He takes other records he might need, such as digital X-rays and intraoral and external photos. Impressions taken of your teeth are used to create a study model that assists in the planning process.

Surgical guides

The Straumann system of guided implants employs the use of a stop key to ensure that implants are placed at the proper depth.

The Straumann system of guided implants employs the use of a stop key to ensure that implants are placed at the proper depth.

Dr. Orlich uses the Straumann system to guide the implant procedure. This system aids with a very precise placement of the dental implant using surgical templates that are firmly attached to the titanium post. The guides include a stop key that helps ensure that the implant is placed at the proper depth.

If an extraction is necessary, the doctor will gently remove the tooth. He often removes a tooth in pieces so that the shape of the socket is preserved, and to minimize any potential damage to the surrounding bone and gums. A dental implant may be placed immediately, as well as a bone graft when needed.

Bone Grafting

If your teeth have been missing for a long time you will have experienced bone loss. In the first year after extraction or tooth loss, 25% of the bone is lost to resorption and the bone loss continues. In some cases, bone occurs prior to tooth loss due to severe periodontal disease.

When there is not enough bone to support an implant, Dr. Orlich will augment the jawbone with a bone graft. It is sometimes necessary to increase the amount of bone between your jaw and sinus.

Dental Implants in AustinSinus lifts

When the amount of bone in the upper jaw (the area where the missing tooth was previously located) is not sufficient to accommodate the length of a dental implant, we will perform a sinus lift. This procedure involves filling a portion of the sinus with bone grafting material to create a thicker sinus floor that will allow for implant placement.

Speeding healing

We take advantage of recent innovations in healing using growth factors found in human tissue and blood platelets to stimulate tissue repair. This is known as Guided Tissue Regeneration. The doctor places the growth factor gel around the implant at the gum while placing the titanium post.

Your comfort is important

We understand that dental procedures can cause anxiety for some patients and your comfort is a top priority for our team. We offer mild sedation in addition to local anesthesia to ensure a pain-free experience.

Our team is in close communication with you during the entire process, listening to your concerns, answering any questions you may have and explaining procedures in advance.

High-quality zirconia materials for naturally strong new teeth

We use zirconia abutments that are customized to fit your mouth precisely.

We use zirconia abutments that are customized to fit your mouth precisely.

We use the best materials available when creating and placing your implant, including custom zirconia abutments. Zirconia is a highly durable and biocompatible material that won’t cause allergic reactions as metal sometimes does.

An abutment is used to attach a restoration to the titanium post that has been inserted into the jawbone. Using an abutment that has been made specifically for an individual patient allows for placement below the gum line and tooth-colored zirconia is more aesthetically pleasing than metal, which is visible along the edge of the gums.

Patient Testimonial

Dental Implants in AustinStephanie had two dental implants placed in our office. Here’s what she has to say.

“I have seen several dentists in the last few years and was not quite happy enough to stay with any of them. From my first appointment with Babineau Dentistry, I knew they were different.

“First, Dr. Babineau sat with me in an office to talk about what I was looking to accomplish and why I had come to see him. With most dentists the only conversation I have ever received was while they were looking inside my mouth.

“Then, he created a treatment plan specifically for me and made sure I was satisfied with what the results would be before we proceeded with anything.

“The whole staff has been warm and accommodating through every step of my treatment. I don’t see visits to their office as a chore.”
